Yacht Haven Park and Marina in Fort Lauderdale has come a long way since our last visit a couple of years ago. Back then, after a quick tour of the park, we felt our large rig wouldn’t have easily been accommodated. Since then, they have continued updating the resort, evident by the plentiful amount of large Class A and Super C coaches indicating improved accommodations.
We stayed at Yacht Haven during our Thanksgiving trip on our way back from the Keys. We liked it so much that we decided to return in December. Check-in was a seamless process, and we were escorted through tree-lined streets back to our site. The streets are lined up with paved and turf-covered RV sites. Beautiful yachts and boats are tied up along the water’s edge beyond many of the sites.
This layout keeps each street feeling private and peaceful. However, there was some background noise due to the proximity to Fort Lauderdale airport, with planes taking off frequently. It became more like white noise and wasn’t bothersome. This is at least the third RV resort we’ve stayed at close to an airport, so it was nothing new for us.
The resort provided a packet of helpful information during our stay, including a list of local restaurants and RV mobile repair businesses. The resort offers two takeout food options, which we didn’t get a chance to try, but we heard great things! We will definitely be back, so maybe next time. Other amenities include a laundry and bathroom facility, a pool, a community hangout area, a small fenced-in dog park, and pontoon boat rentals. It looked like there was a gym, but we couldn’t tell if it was open yet. The resort is advertising an updated pool, clubhouse, fitness center, rooftop bar, and restaurant coming in 2025. The renderings look beautiful and luxurious, so we’re excited to see the finished result! Visit their website for more details! https://yachthavenpark.com
The RV sites were either paved or covered with turf. The lots are all turf, which has its benefits. Some sites have furniture as they are owned by private individuals. During this stay, we did not have any additional furniture on our site. This isn’t unusual for the nicer RV resorts we’ve visited; however, a dining table or picnic table would be helpful to have. There are lots of trees around the resort, which adds to the aesthetic. However, some trees are overarching onto RV sites and appear to need trimming. This would be a problem for a large rig like ours. We don’t want to risk scratching the paint and prefer debris not to fall on the roof. For us, these are things to take note of but don’t detract from all the great aspects of this resort.
We’re delighted to have found a luxurious RV resort in Fort Lauderdale that can accommodate Super Cs. We’ve spent many years vacationing in that area and love that we can now stay with our RV. Overall, the resort staff was very friendly and helpful, and we met lots of nice people. Both of us wished we could have stayed longer!
